Care of Kimonos

Traditionally the kimono was taken apart and washed and then re-sewn. Another common practice is to simply brush the kimono down in the direction of the weave, and air out any dust before refolding the kimono and storing it in rice paper. The collar and sleeve ends can be lightly tapped with gauze soaked in benzene to remove stains. Today, kimonos are either dry cleaned or can be machine washed depending on the fabric and washing instructions.

For your Lovekimono garment we recommend that you machine wash below 50 degrees with similar colours. Do not tumble dry.
